I've observed that one of my machines uses diesel at a much quicker rate compared to the others. Which heavy equipment tends to consume the most fuel for you and what type of tasks are you typically using it for?

Our excavator. Yeah, it guzzles the most fuel, mostly when we're digging or moving dirt for long stretches.

well, my most thirsty machine is the CAT 980 Wheel Loader when we're running it fast. it burns the most when it's constantly cycling between highload pushing into a pile and rapid travel across the yard, because that quick acceleration uses huge bursts of fuel

In my lineup, the Wheel Loader is the undisputed diesel king. an excavator can sip fuel while they sit and swings, but the loader is constantly hitting the pile, reversing, and accelerating under load
if you're doing short cycle loading or load and carry over 100 feet, your fuel burn is going to skyrocket compared to anything else on the site
