As I reflect on how much the mining industry has evolved since I first got my feet wet, I can’t help but think about the advice that would be most valuable for newcomers today. If you were stepping into mining this year, what’s the one key piece of wisdom you’d want to share?

When I was just starting out, I totally didn't get how fast everything moves. If I were starting now, I’d tell newbies to be curious and always learn because new stuff comes out of nowhere faster than you'd think.

The biggest thing I learned? Respect the little things you do every day. Checking your stuff, keeping an eye on what's happening and double-checking your plans those habits will save your butt way more than any expensive gadget.
