When I first got into mining, I had no clue just how much the right gear could be a lifesaver. There were countless times when something went wrong or the conditions got tough, and one piece of equipment always came to the rescue. For me, it was my trusty multi-tool, it’s helped me out of so many jams! What’s your favorite gear that has pulled you through time and again?

I'd say my headlamp is a must-have. I couldn't do those long underground shifts without it. Having reliable light really matters when things get tough.

When I was a newbie, I didn't realize how important good boots were. I bought a cheap pair, and they fell apart halfway through a dirty job. It was awful. After that I got myself some strong steel-toe, waterproof boots. They've saved me tons of times, keeping my feet dry and safe when heavy stuff dropped. Seriously, they're the unsung heroes of working underground.
