I'm looking for ores that I can easily mine as someone new in this field, and where can I find spots with those ores around here in the US? I'm willing to travel far.
What a loaded question. I did not even look at your profile thinking this was a great question to start out with and I know others are going to read further for an open answer. If one is in a city or rural area join a local mineral, rock and gem club or society. Really, they lead to knowledge and great planned trips throughout the year, annual gem and rock shows where you learn what is in your state area just to get started. Anyone, who lives in a university town has access to outdoor events to participate with others also leading to trail events of historic mining interest. Lastly the big question where's the precious metals or gems? There are plenty of clubs in your area and I'm naming one GPAA Gold Prospectors Association of America, well worth your annual payment, monthly meeting, bi-monthly magazine, and most of all you meet the true grit of the earth male or female prospectors and miners of America and Canada with access to public land of mine sites and the work is up to you and who ever you drag along on your membership card. I hope that helped a little...I'm looking for ores that I can easily mine as someone new in this field, and where can I find spots with those ores around here in the US? I'm willing to travel far.
