Thanksgiving mash texture matters

My family was all about the smooth texture. My mom whipped them up like she was competing for a trophy! So I mostly side with Team Smooth just because that’s what I was used to

Growing up lumps in mashed potatoes were a mark of pride in my house, my grandma wouldn’t use anything but a hand masher. That’s why I still lean towards lumpy potatoes they remind me of Thanksgiving.
