First job nerves

On my first day operating a backhoe at the mine I was a nervous wreck. My hands were shaking so much that felt the need to triple-check every lever thinking they might be booby-trapped. In the end just ended up scooping air on my first try. What about you? What was your first real job or experience with heavy machinery, and did also scoop air on you first try?

We can all relate to that! What a great story and thanks for sharing it with us. Welcome to the forum!

On my first go with a mini-excavator I was so concentrated on not crashing into anything that I dug a hole about a foot deep and then just sat there for five minutes staring at it. I really did scoop up some air with that first bucket!
