How do you know when the surface results are good enough to justify launching a drilling program? Are there any general rules or insights you've gathered from your experiences?

there's no universal rules, but you need to have geological confidence. surface samples must show consistently anomalous grades that are high enough to be potentially economic if they extend in three dimensions
also see the economic potential. the potential grade needs to exceed the anticipated costs of future extraction and processing
