Diagnosing conveyor belt tracking problems

I’ve noticed my conveyor belt veering off to one side and becoming a bit troublesome during operation.
Before it starts causing damage, what quick checks, tension adjustments,
or simple tricks do you use to keep a belt tracking straight?

I had a situation on a gravel line where the belt kept veering to the left, almost like it was on a mission. It turned out to be a misaligned idler and uneven tension that caused the issue. A quick adjustment to square things up and a small tweak to the tracking had it running straight again in just a few minutes

Our belt started drifting after we rushed a roller swap. I thought something was off, maybe even haunted. But really, it was the tail pulley being a bit off-center and the frame not being level. A tape measure, a wrench, and some patience saved us from ruining another belt.

For me, the first sign something’s off is when I hear that soft edge rubbing.
I stop to check for any buildup, spin the rollers, and make tiny adjustments.
It’s incredible how just a quarter-turn can straighten out a wandering belt and get it back on track.
