What's the real deal between miners and geologists?

I'm curious about the relationship between miners, equipment operators, and geologists. Do you guys get along? Do you see geologists as a help or more of a hindrance to getting the job done? Coz I hear jokes from time to time.

I've heard some people say there's a disconnect between what the geologists plan out on paper and what actually works in the field. What are some of the biggest disagreements you've had with a geologist on a job site?

Geologists play a crucial role in understanding resources, but sometimes their plans don't quite align with what's happening in the field. Conflicts often arise over things like sampling methods and drilling patterns. Although their expertise can boost efficiency, having overly detailed plans can actually slow down operations

Agreed. A geologist's pattern might be perfect on paper but ignore subtle ground changes an experienced operator can see. Does your site have a formal process for miners to provide feedback and request changes to the drilling plan before it's finalized?

One thing to watch for is how much stuff you need to move. Geologists might guess wrong, and that messes with how fast things move and what gear you need. Quick chats before shifts can help everyone get on the same page.
