Ever had that moment after a long shift when you feel completely drained, yet your mind is still racing? What’s your go-to method for relaxing and winding down after a day in the mines?
When I first started in the mines, I'd get off work beat tired yet still wired. Then a buddy of mine told me to try fishing. So I did. Sitting by the water just listening to nature turned into my thing. Years later going somewhere quiet outdoors is still the one thing that helps me relax after a crazy day.
What works for me is a hot shower and then grub. After being underground all day, that's what brings me back to life. I started doing this years back, and it's still my best way to relax.
Reading does it for me. Started when I first got into mining; I'd get back home and couldn't sleep. So, I started reading before bed. Doesn't matter what books, magazines focusing on that stuff pulls me out of work mode, and I can finally chill.
