This year, I jumped into a few mining projects thinking it would be the same old routine, but some really surprised me and taught me a lot more than I anticipated. I'm curious to hear what stood out for everyone else. Which project caught you off guard the most in 2025?

Then there was this time I joined a project to get water out of a pit in the middle of summer. I thought it would just be swapping pumps and running hoses. But the water level changed, and all of a sudden, there was twice as much water. We had to redo the whole plan right then and there. It was long days and muddy boots, but I learned a lot about being ready for anything.

I once tried to fix a conveyor belt that kept stopping. I thought it was a bad sensor, but it ended up being a whole thing about getting it lined up right, the tension, and how the weight was balanced. Learned a lot in one week.

I thought I was just doing a quick fix on a small road. Turns out, the ground underneath was super soft. Spent half the day figuring out the soil situation the hard way.
