Underground mining new safety tech worth watching?

I've been checking out the newest safety tech for underground mining, like systems that prevent crashes, track gas in real-time, self-driving trucks, and sensors you can wear. I'm wondering what's really working out there. Has anyone seen good results or tried out any of this new stuff themselves?

The tech I'm watching the closest is the advancement in AI driven VOD. It uses the personnel and equipment tags to deliver air only where it's needed, which is a massive safety improvement (better air quality for those working) and an immediate energy cost saver.
It's not cool like a self driving truck, but VOD directly impacts our largest operational cost while improving the working environment. The second is the development of truly intrinsic safety approved Li ion batteries for vehicles, which could eliminate DPM entirely and completely change our ventilation equation

Smart focus on practical tech over flashy innovations. Things like AI-driven video-on-demand and inherently safe lithium-ion batteries tackle essential operational expenses and directly improve worker safety. These solutions will have a much greater impact than autonomous equipment.

A lot of the new tech sounds great on paper but only some of it’s holding up underground. Collision avoidance and proximity sensors are probably the most useful right now. They’ve already prevented a few accidents in haulage drifts where I work. The wearable gas monitors are hit or miss depending on brand and how dusty the air gets.
