A guy I used to work with treated the mining industry like it was some kind of travel job, bragging about the camps and the money but he didn't last long. He wasn't ready for 12-hr shifts, constant dust and weeks away from home. He found out quick that this is not something you try out for a season and then quit without consequences to the crew who counted on you. I've been in this line since the 90s and what I respect most is the men and women who show up day after day without a fuss and do the job right. That's who keeps the mines safe and running.
