Keeping an eye on fleet fuel without going crazy

I was reviewing last month’s fuel stats and noticed that half the fleet is guzzling fuel like it’s going out of style.
Before things spiral out of control, what simple tools, habits,
or tracking methods do you use to maintain fuel efficiency across your mining fleet?

I keep track of fuel usage for each shift and compare it to the hours worked. Any little discrepancies show up quickly, allowing me to identify the gas-guzzlers before they start eating into the budget.

I maintain a spreadsheet that includes hours, fuel consumption, and operator notes. A quick look reveals who’s being economical and who’s really putting the tanks to the test. This makes coaching a breeze and helps keep fuel costs down.

We monitor fuel usage for each machine, keep an eye on idle times, and compare operators.
Sometimes, just a small change in habits or a quick maintenance check can save a lot of fuel without anyone even noticing a dip in performance.
