I'm looking to transition from civil construction into the drilling sector. I have my HR license, white card, and first aid certification. I'm curious whether it's more effective to apply directly to companies or to go through recruiters for entry-level offsider positions. Any advice from anyone who's successfully made this shift?

hi @rockdrillpro a lot of people think recruiters are the only way, but from my experience, applying directly to the big companies is a solid strategy.
Look for the Careers section on the websites of places like Boart Longyear, Master Drilling, or Ausdrill.
It shows you're proactive and saves them the recruiter fee, which can sometimes give you a leg up. It can take a bit longer, but it's a great way to get your foot in the door with a specific company you want to work for.
