Every metallurgist and process engineer has been there: you're in the middle of a survey, and you're stuck fighting with spreadsheets instead of focusing on the data. Half the time the Excel templates are buggy, the other half you're Googling equations because you forgot one detail.

So let me put it bluntly... what do you actually struggle with the most when doing plant-level calculations? Is it sampling errors, tools that don't work in the field, or just lack of time to double-check numbers during a shift? I'm not fishing for pitches, I just want to hear from people in the trenches. What part of the workflow really makes you want to throw the clipboard?

I'm okay with the math part, but it's hard to match flow numbers with lab results. Waiting for test results makes it tough to trust what's happening right then. Are you working with nonstop flow or one batch at a time? That can make the numbers harder to follow.

Seems like the biggest time-waster is always the small stuff that adds up, doesn;t it? For me it's the spreadsheets. You're trying to get through a survey, but the formulas are off or the data just doesn't look right. You spend more time troubleshooting the spreadsheet than actually looking at what the numbers are telling you. Another thing that slows me down is when the information from the field isn't consistent. Like when a sample is taken a little differently or the time stamp is off. Those things force you to go back and double-check everything, and you lose valuable time. It's a drag for sure.

Spreadsheet chaos is a common problem. When everyone's editing, formulas break and data gets overwritten. We need locked calculation cells and set input spots, but most places still pass around unprotected Excel files, right?
