Hear me out, TIL how minerals are being found on a big scale. this includes some serious detective work for Geologists. they run through old maps, ride planes with like, special or magnetic sensors to check the underground and don't forget how they analyze tiny bits of soil an rock. They also look for clues on different books on where the good stuff are. Like if history says a river is known to have gold in it, they will take it from there.

It's pretty fascinating how they narrow it down from broad areas to specific spots!

Geologists really are detectives, using old maps, special sensors on planes, and soil analysis to narrow down where minerals hide, I just find it so amazing how they turn clues into precise discoveries

It's pretty amazing how science and gut feeling come together in this field. I'm curious, what do you think is the best way to find mineral deposits these days? Is it the old-school mapping, airborne surveys, or the newer geochem analysis?

These are all just tools. Use the ones that are available and cost effective. It will vary based on location, land package, remoteness, commodity(ies) and experience and stage of project.

Use the USGS resources, be prepared to get hot, cold, dirty, and sweaty. Strengthen your legs, back, arms, torso and neck. Don't buy cheap equipment. Check out old mining sites and prospects, use maps - especially topo maps, Learn to recognize geological formations. Gold is everywhere, even in your back yard. You want to learn how to find how it concentrates / was concentrated and determine locations where is has been found before. Learn why older mines and mining communities failed.

This is so informative. and yes, who knows if you have a gold in your backyard. maybe I should start digging. thanks for sharing this

Totalement d'accord, c'est comme une chasse au trésor moderne ! J'adore le mélange de science, d'histoire et d'intuition qu'ils utilisent. C'est impressionnant comment tout part d'un indice pour finir sur un vrai gisement.
