You’re on shift at the mine, the crusher is humming along, and suddenly, a new vibration starts rattling your boots and your nerves. Before this escalates into costly downtime, let’s share some field checks, identify likely trouble spots, and explore smart strategies to figure out what’s shaking loose down there.

This happened last season, and everyone insisted it was normal until the bolts began to shift. A quick walkaround with a thermal gun and a stethoscope app saved us a lot of time. These strange vibrations always start off small before becoming loud and costly.

The first time I felt that buzz under my boots, I thought it was just an issue with the feed load. But it turned out a loose guard and a worn-out bearing were working together. Those vibrations don’t lie.

There was one instance where what started as a faint hum turned into a sound like a washing machine filled with rocks by lunchtime. It turned out to be a misaligned pulley.
