Can you show me your plate so I don’t mess up mine?

I haven’t put mine together yet I’ll probably just stack everything all wrong anyway. When I was a kid I’d make this huge mountain of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes just to see if it would stand. It tasted fantastic, but it looked like a total mess! Help me out what’s a proper Thanksgiving plate supposed to look like? If you’ve got a picture, send it my way!

These days, I try to keep my plate looking nice, turkey in the middle, sides arranged around it but when I was a kid I’d just throw everything together into one big pile. It might have looked messy but honestly it was the most delicious chaos ever.

Nowadays I keep it simple just turkey a couple of sides and gravy in its own little corner but back in college I’d stack everything as high as I could to make those leftovers last. It wasn’t the prettiest sight but it definitely did the trick.

My family always went for a layered approach, turkey on the bottom then stuffing and mashed potatoes stacked on top all smothered in gravy. I picked that up from my mom and it’s stuck with me because it feels like I’m building my own little Thanksgiving tower.
