Blast vibration vs bench height

While I was observing a test blast, I found myself curious about the relationship between bench height and its effects on vibration and fragmentation. Does anyone have any actual measurements or firsthand experiences? I’d really appreciate seeing how your setups compare, and I’m eager to learn a few tricks!

I've only run a few small test blasts, but it seems like raising the bench a few inches really helped reduce the vibration that transferred to the floor. I'm definitely interested to know if anyone has tracked the differences in fragmentation with actual numbers.

In my last project, I decided to use a lower bench to keep the fragments from flying everywhere. While the vibration definitely felt stronger, the chips ended up spreading less.

I remember a coworker adjusting bench heights during a demo blast. He insisted that a slightly higher setup produced cleaner rock breaks and less vibration on the nearby equipment. We never actually measured it, but the visual difference was pretty noticeable.
