In the mining sector a lot can change in just 12 hours. When it's time for crews to switch over clear communication is essential to keep operations running smoothly and to dodge expensive mistakes. Some teams use written logs, others opt for in-person briefings, and some blend in digital tools.

What techniques have you discovered work best for keeping crews in sync during shift changes?

Down in the mines for long shifts, quick chats were our thing. A fast briefing saved loads of trouble, especially if gear or ground changed.

Digital tools can help, but nothing beats a good face-to-face. I'd write notes but also walk new teams through risks. It kept us safe and saved cash.
