A thread to discuss all things mobile equipment specific to underground mining applications. Whether is be Sandvik, Epiroc, Caterpillar, Normet ........ Let's get a thread going to hear any of the systemic issues that are presenting with the current iterations of mobile equipment and any next gen assets that are beginning to roll through the manufacturing line.

Great idea, long overdue really, keen to hear how the latest Sandvik and Epiroc rigs are holding up underground and other details

Good thread idea, the timing’s right with so many fleets aging out at once and new rigs coming in. One point worth adding is that Caterpillar’s R1700 underground loader has been running in North American trials with battery electric variants, which could change the cost profile compared to diesel Sandvik and Epiroc units. Have you seen any mines in your region actually commit to battery units yet or are they still in demo stages?
