Imagine being on your first mining shift, trying to act all cool, and then you hit the wrong switch or call a part by the wrong name. Suddenly, all eyes are on you! Instead of shying away from it, let’s embrace those early slip-ups that still bring a smile to our faces.

First day on the dozer, I spent a solid ten minutes scratching my head, wondering why it wouldn’t budge. The foreman strolled over, pointed at the parking brake I’d totally forgotten to release, and the whole crew just erupted in laughter. I’ve never lived that one down, I still get teased about it years later.

Called the hydraulic breaker a 'jackhammer' in front of the entire crew. I got roasted so hard. Now I know better, but wow, that first week was a real eye-opener. I learned way more from my blunders than any training manual could teach me

On my second day, I accidentally reversed into a porta-potty because I wasn’t paying attention to my mirrors. I tipped the whole thing over, thankfully it was empty! But my boss still made me clean it up as a learning experience. Yeah, I definitely learned my lesson. Never again!
