Quirky Crew Superstitions Before a Shift

After spending years with various crews, you begin to pick up on the quirky rituals that people insist on before the workday starts.
Some are downright hilarious, others are a bit strange, and a few seem surprisingly significant.
What’s the most unusual superstition or pre-shift ritual that your crew has, and does it really do the trick?

Every morning on one crew, someone would tap a hammer three times on the steel plate before getting started.
They all claimed it set the tone for zero accidents.
I found it funny at first, but after a whole season without any accidents, I joined in just for kicks.

There was this guy I worked with who always had to pour his coffee in a perfect circle on the counter before touching any controls. He said it helped keep the machines running smoothly. Was it odd? Absolutely. Did it work? Hard to tell, but it ended up being surprisingly calming for the whole team.

A few years back, my crew had this funny little handshake ritual with every toolbox before we climbed into the rigs.
They insisted it brought luck to the hydraulics.
I thought it was silly, but you know what?
I never saw a breakdown during our shifts maybe it was just luck, or maybe something else entirely
