Yeah, I messed up one year by just buying presents without thinking. My bank account was hurting for weeks after that, so now I make a budget for each person, and I stick with it. It makes the whole thing fun without the stress later.

When I was a kid, my family would make most of our decorations instead of buying new stuff every year. I still do that, and it saves so much money. Plus, it makes the house feel more like home.
